Blue Mage
Blue Mage takes the elemental swordplay of Fencer and adds enemy actions to the mix. Blue Magic comes in 5 discrete levels and works a bit differently than other magic.
First, before a Blue Magic spell can be cast, your character must learn it from an certain enemy family. For instance, the Morbol family of monsters can teach the iconic Bad Breath spell. You have a small chance to learn any given Blue Magic spell simply witnessing an engaged enemy use a learnable action while your job is set to Blue Mage. You do not need to be hit by the spell in order to learn it. There is no level requirement for learning a spell. Second, Blue Magic works similarly to a Ninja's Ninjutsu command in that its function will change. There are 5 separate actions, named simply Blue Magic [II, III, IV, and V], which morph into various spells based on your most recently used Fencer weaponskill. For instance, Blue Magic V will become the spell Bad Breath after you perform Waveblade on any target. If you then perform Torcleaver, Blue Magic V changes from Bad Breath to The Ram's Voice. You can also cast any level of Blue Magic without preceding it with a weaponskill. When cast in this way, each Blue Magic becomes a self-buffing spell. For instance, without a combo, using Blue Magic III will cast King's Will on the user. Lastly, each level of Blue Magic has its own recast timer, with higher level Blue Magic requiring significantly longer cooldown. Each possible spell of the same level shares the same cooldown, so if you cast Bad Breath, you must wait 60 seconds until you may cast either Bad Breath or The Ram's Voice again. You could immediately cast any other level of Blue Magic, however. In addition to this system of mutable actions, there are 3 party support abilities that each have a cooldown of their own and work like any ability from vanilla FFXIV. And to round out the Blue Mage's arsenal, there are 2 new weaponskills which form a three hit combo which can be initiated by any Fencer weaponskill. The second hit of the combo shortens any active Blue Magic cooldown, and the third hit is purely for damage. Waveblade > Mirage Blade > Onslaught Cyclone > Mirage Blade > Onslaught Torcleaver > Mirage Blade > Onslaught
